UP Women’s Commission Chief Rebukes Officials in Jalaun, Orders Swift Action on Woman’s Assault Complaint
State Women’s Commission Chairperson Babita Singh reprimanded officials in Jalaun after a woman alleged assault, circulation of obscene videos, and a false case by her husband. Singh ordered immediate action and also criticized Congress over a controversial AI video of the Prime Minister.
During the hearing, the complainant detailed repeated violence and harassment, asserting that her husband not only assaulted her but also attempted to defame her by spreading explicit video content and registering a false case against her. Singh intervened immediately, demanding that officers present explain the delay in investigation and instructing them to ensure prompt redressal in accordance with legal procedures.
While addressing reporters later, Singh also commented on a controversial AI-generated video of the Prime Minister, accusing the Congress party of engaging in what she described as irresponsible and distasteful political tactics. She maintained that such acts undermine public trust and reflect a pattern of conduct she attributed to the opposition.
The developments underscore ongoing concerns over women’s safety and the need for stronger administrative accountability in handling gender-based grievances. Singh’s intervention is expected to intensify scrutiny on local authorities and push for more responsive mechanisms for victims seeking justice.
